What is regenerative farming:
To define regenerative farming in simple word we can say it as a way of farming and living with the natural eco system by helping the earth and soil microbes to improve and regenerate has we do the farming. This will keep the soil healthy and provide healthy livable earth to future generation.
Why Regenerative Farming:
In the current scenario’s, human being is exploiting the earth to an extent that based on an environment study we are only having healthy soil to harvest food for next 60 years. which is a warning sign to everyone should take it seriously.
In the current emerging climate conditions, we cannot predict the weather situation correctly we need to be constantly adapting to the climate. The regenerative agriculture practices should help to adjust and adapt the farming practices with the climate.
Where to Start regenerative agriculture:
For Beginners if you don’t have farming knowledge check your local market who are supporting regenerative farming and selling products from regenerative farm practices. Also visit your local farmer’s market and talk to the vendors selling fruits and vegetables and find out what farming practices they are following, sometimes they might not know about regenerative farming but still they might be following the practices which improves the soil health by not using any harmful chemicals and pesticides. also, local libraries and internet search should more information.
Practicing regenerative agriculture.
For people who have knowledge about farming practices, they can look for information about regenerative farming at the local educational university’s one such institution I try following is the Chico State University Regenerative agriculture department https://www.csuchico.edu/regenerativeagriculture/.
Some of the practices I try following in my garden that can be scaled for large scale regenerative farming.
